2025 Fall Concert: “Autumn in Counterpoint”
J.S. Bach and his son Carl Philipp Emanuel Bach are featured in our fall program, Nov. 9 at 3 p.m. at Sundin Music Hall on the Hamline University campus, 1531 Hewitt Ave., St. Paul. We’ll perform a string orchestra arrangement of a well-known work by J.S. Bach, the Passacaglia and Fugue in c minor. C.P.E. Bach was himself a prolific and influential composer whose style bridged the Baroque and Classical eras. Emily Heuschele, one of our talented orchestra musicians, will conduct his Sinfonia in C.
In addition to Bach & son, you’ll hear a stirring string suite by British composer Christopher Wilson and an arrangement for violin and string orchestra of “Oblivion,” one of Argentine composer Astor Piazzolla’s best-known works. Concertmaster Wendy Willson Legge will be the soloist.
Admission is free; donations are appreciated ($20 suggested). Free parking on the Hamline University campus.
