FALL CONCERT: LITTLE SUITES & SWEET SERENADES

Sunday, Oct. 25, 3 p.m., Sundin Music Hall at Hamline University

The orchestra’s fall program spans the musical eras from Baroque to contemporary, including music of Nielsen, Yokoyama, Locatelli and Joplin. We’ll end the concert with “America the Beautiful,” in celebration of the 250th anniversary of the United States.

COMMUNITY CAROL SING-ALONG

Monday, Dec. 7, 7 p.m., Centennial United Methodist Church, Roseville

Sing along with our community orchestra and song leader Logan Combs on favorite Christmas carols. Our program also features guest oboist Merilee Klemp and special music by a Holocaust-era composer who was featured in the “Violins of Hope” concert series in the Twin Cities earlier this year.

About RSE

The Roseville String Ensemble (RSE) is the Twin Cities’ only amateur string orchestra. RSE was formed in 1998 to bring together amateur string players to learn and perform ensemble music, foster the players’ personal growth and satisfaction, and contribute to the community through music.

RSE plays music not typically performed by other community orchestras, including Baroque concerti grossi, string suites, and contemporary works for string orchestra. We perform three free public concerts each season. The musicians also participate in weekly chamber groups throughout the summer, and small groups of players perform occasionally for community events.
