About RSE
The Roseville String Ensemble (RSE) is the Twin Cities’ only amateur string orchestra. RSE was formed in 1998 to bring together amateur string players to learn and perform ensemble music, foster the players’ personal growth and satisfaction, and contribute to the community through music.
RSE plays music not typically performed by other community orchestras, including Baroque concerti grossi, string symphonies, and chamber music. We perform three free public concerts each season. The musicians participate in a winter chamber music workshop, as well as weekly chamber groups throughout the summer. Small groups of players also perform occasionally for community events.
Conductor Amir Kats leads the orchestra in its fall and spring concerts. Choral director Joel Johnson conducts the players and audience in the annual Community Carol Sing-along.
