Join us for a composition/improv workshop with new-classical crossover violin/cello duo The OK Factor! The OK Factor has been writing and performing their original music for seven years, and they have appeared frequently as featured artists with Minnesota Public Radio (MPR). They have also participated in MPR’s Class Notes program, and they were finalists for the McKnight Fellowships for Musicians in 2018. Come connect with this delightful duo in this hands-on, instruments-up workshop to learn more about their distinct compositional and performance style. Participants will leave the workshop with a fully crafted short composition and will have the opportunity to perform their composition with group accompaniment.

Prerequisites

  • Minimum 2 years experience on your string instrument (violin, viola, cello, or bass)
  • Basic working knowledge of scales and key signatures
  • Ability to sight-read
