Amir Kats Begins Role as RSE Conductor in the 2018-2019 Season

The Roseville String Ensemble Board of Directors is delighted to announce that Amir Kats has accepted the position of Conductor for the Ensemble’s 2018-2019 concert season. Mr. Kats will replace James Hainlen, who has decided to retire in the spring of 2018 after 13 wonderful seasons with the Ensemble.

Mr. Kats has extensive experience in conducting, teaching, and performing music. He currently teaches orchestra and band at Blake Middle School and is the conductor of the St. Paul Jewish Community Center Symphony. He previously served as a coach for MacPhail Center for Music and various school ensembles throughout Minnesota and New Mexico. From 2007 to 2012, Mr. Kats served as the Artistic Director of Greater Twin Cities Youth Symphonies.

The Roseville String Ensemble has benefited greatly from the inspirational leadership of Dr. Hainlen for 13 seasons. The Ensemble is extremely fortunate to find someone of Mr. Kats’ experience and abilities to help it meet the high standards established by Dr. Hainlen and also to bring new challenges to the Ensemble.
