James Hainlen

JH-conductorDr. James Hainlen has served as conductor and artistic director of the Roseville String Ensemble since 2006. A respected conductor and music educator, Dr. Hainlen taught orchestra in the Stillwater Area Schools for 28 years. He has also conducted for the Greater Twin Cities Youth Symphonies and Wisconsin Youth Symphonies in Madison, Wisconsin, and guest-conducted community orchestras around the Midwest. He remains active as a clinician and consultant to string programs.

 

Joel Johnson

JJ-conductor-reducedJoel returns for the 19th year to direct the Roseville Area Community Carol Sing-Along. Making music with Joel is always a special event. He worked for 33 years as a music educator in Roseville. In 1993, he was named Minnesota Choral Director of the Year. Now retired from public school teaching, Joel directs the choir at Falcon Heights United Church of Christ.
